James 1:26-27
If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
Water. Everybody needs it but not everybody has it. Fresh water is in short supply in many place around the world. In those places the water is H2O just like everywhere else but it's the stuff that's been added like pollution and parasites that will turn your stomach if you drink it. What those places need is pure water undefiled by anything added.
Sadly religion is the same way. Everybody needs it but the good stuff is in short supply because of what's been added to it, polluting it, making it toxic and filled with parasites feeding off of those in desperate enough need to seek religion in the first place. What is needed is religion that is pure and undefiled. The make up of that religion is simple. Take care of those who cannot take care of themselves and don't let this world rub off on you.
