James 5b-6
See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.
In May of 2007 my thoughts were completely consumed with my upcoming wedding and my beautiful bride-to-be. She had earned her degree just a couple of weeks earlier and had already headed to Panama City to begin the festivities. When I was finally ready to head north I ran into a bit of a problem. The Ocala National Forest was on fire and I needed to drive right through it. Luckily I was able to make it through following the help of some well placed detour signs and the rest as they say is history.
2007 was not the first time nor the last that Central Florida had been on fire. We might not have much in the way of normal seasons like fall and winter but we do have hurricane and wildfire seasons.Across the U.S hundreds of thousands of acres burn, millions of dollars in property is damaged, and lives are lost every year due to wildfires. And most of those fires stared with just a little flame.
Just like destructive wildfires are started by small flames, the wrong word said at the wrong time can start a fire that will burn your life to the ground. So if hell has ignited your tongue be careful what your tongue ignites because you never know the extent of the destruction your words leave beihnd.
